“Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don't give up.”

ABOUT JENNY

HELLO

I’m Jenny Hudson and I’m a counsellor working in private practice. My pronouns are she and her. I offer counselling and psychotherapy services which are delivered either face to face from my counselling rooms in Stockport, Manchester, or remotely by Zoom

Many counsellors enter the profession through their own personal struggles and through realising the effectiveness of counselling. I am no exception. For me, therapy is about hope. It’s about having a safe, non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and eventually arriving at a place where you feel empowered to make changes and grow.

I work with adults (individuals and couples) across all age ranges, up to and beyond retirement. I am committed to offering a service that is welcoming to all backgrounds in a supportive and non-discriminatory manner.

I have previous experience working at a cancer care centre where I counselled bereaved family members. I also worked as a volunteer providing counselling to members of the LGBTQ+ community. Prior to working in counselling, I worked as a qualified teacher, and in educational settings where I tutored and supported adults going back into employment.

The main modalities that I work in are Transactional Analysis or TA and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or ACT.

Reaching out can be difficult. I get that. If it's easier to drop me a note, feel free to text or email in the first instance. I will gather some brief information and will talk to you about how I work. You can then decide if what I offer is appropriate for you.
