“Hope can be a powerful force. Maybe there’s no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic.”

REMOTE AND ONLINE COUNSELLING
TELEPHONE AND ONLINE COUNSELLING
Remote counselling refers to a counselling session where the counsellor and client are not in the same room as each other. I offer two types of remote counselling: telephone counselling and online counselling. Research suggests that remote counselling is as effective as face to face counselling.
I have completed over 100+ hours of training in remote counselling and have been awarded a certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling that is accredited by ACTO.
TELEPHONE COUNSELLING
During a typical telephone counselling session, I will phone you on your chosen telephone number and we will talk through any issues that have been bothering you. I provide an initial free 20-min session,* where we get to know each other and work out whether we can work together. After that sessions are 50-minutes in length.
You will need to find a private and comfortable space where you cannot be overheard, and you won’t be interrupted. I would recommend that you charge your phone before the session.
Note: I am unable to offer telephone counselling for couples.

ONLINE COUNSELLING
For online counselling I use the platform, Zoom. This allows us to see and hear each other during the session. It is close to face to face counselling, but we’re not in the same room. Before beginning online counselling I provide a free initial 20-min consultation.* This takes place over the phone and allows us to work out whether we can work together. It is also a good way of determining whether online counselling is right for you.
After the initial consultation, I will send you an invitation via email. This will include a link. When you click on the link at the mutually agreed time, we will meet online.
You will need a computer, laptop, or tablet with a good internet connection, and a comfortable space where you can talk privately. You will need to download the free Zoom software before the first session.
